Getting Started with Seneferu | Avoid Getting Lost
Seneferu is a large scale solution covering all that needs to be done in a fully CGI or VFX production since the project was just a concept till the final project delivery passing by all the pre-production, production, and post-production stages and processes by providing Artificial Intelligence solutions and features through a set of tools and methods for everybody in the project team.
Obviously, nobody is expected or supposed to know everything in Seneferu, since going through the wrong path can easily get you lost in a flood of information that is beyond the scope of your role in the project…
In this session, I will guide you through the right learning path and how to avoid getting lost or confused between the different tools and methods depending on your role in the project and according to what are you using Seneferu for.
First of all, everybody should go through the Seneferu Overview video (Seneferu Presentation), this will give you a very quick overview of what do you expect to find in Senferu…
Anybody involved by any way in breaking down the project, or planning and scheduling or budgeting the production, should go through all the script breakdown training videos, even if the project doesn’t yet have a script or storyboard, and should also go through “Seneferu Project Planner” training videos.
This doesn’t only include the producers and the high management of mass productions but also includes individual production managers who are using Seneferu just to manage the production and are not interested or are not going to be involved in the post-production stage management and deliveries.
This will show you how to use Seneferu to breakdown the project, to breakdown the production tasks, how to plan, schedule and assign the production jobs and tasks to the team and get an efficient production plan, and how to get reports about them the production state and progress, in addition, will show you how to get the call sheets, and the shot lists and more.
Production Managers of Mass Productions and Production Team from Production Companies who are going to be involved in the whole project from the beginning to the end have to also go through the training videos of “Seneferu Production Managers for Production Team”... this will show you, how to send finished jobs to the clients for revision, how to follow up the production, how to get and place notes and more.
Production Coordinators of post-production and/or CGI projects should go through the training videos of “Seneferu Script Breakdown” which has a lot of information about the daily work breakdown and tasks assignments and scheduling, in addition, they have to go through the training videos of “Seneferu Production Manager for Supervisors”, the training videos about “Seneferu Production Manager - Revisions & Dailies” needed for supervisors revisions sessions, also, they need to go through the training videos of “Generating Regular Reports”, and optionally, can go through the project dashboards training video.
Producers, High Management, VFX Producer, VFX Supervisor, and the High Management at sister companies should go through the training videos of “Seneferu Dashboards” and “Seneferu Analysis and Production Efficiency Reports”.
This will show you how to supervise the production from anywhere, and how to see the project state and the future of the project now.
High Management, departments heads, and High Management in sister companies should go through “Seneferu Dashboards for Sister Companies and Departments Heads”... this will show you how to supervise the production of the project part assigned to your department or company from anywhere and how to manage your team and the production assigned to your department or company.
VFX Supervisor, CG Supervisors should go through the whole Pipeline training videos…
This will show you how Seneferu’s factory pipeline and workflow were designed to work and will show you how to modify and customize them.
All department heads, supervisors should go through the video of “Seneferu Production Manager for Supervisors”, which will show you how to review the tasks, read and place notes, how to send things for “Client Revision” and more.
In addition, you have to go through the pipeline video related to your department role and should go quickly pass through at least the pipeline video regarding the processes prior and post your department (if not the whole pipeline and workflow training videos).
This will let you understand Seneferu’s assets hierarchies, and how they are planned and linked to each other and to the different project scenes and shots, what are the tasks that will be needed to build an asset or do a job for your department, and how and where to create them, because you will be responsible later to guide the production coordinators on the creation of the task needed for your the works needed from your department and what is the best way to breakdown your department works.
Pre-Production phase, the VFX and Post-Production Team should go through the pipeline training video related to their profession and have a quick walk through the training videos of at least the processes prior and post the process they are supposed to do.
This will show you how your job is configured in the factory pipeline and will show you any considerations you have to be aware of, in addition, will show you how the Production Manager manages and automates your side works, task statuses, and reports.
VFX and Post-Production Team should go through the training video of “Seneferu Ingest”.
Artists, Technical Directors, VFX, and Post-Production Team should go through the training videos of “Seneferu Production Manager Overview”...
This will show you how to use Seneferu Production Manager build your tasks, read, and place notes, review and deal with your tasks dependencies and version and more
Remote Freelancers and sister companies VFX and post-production team who are working Remotely (not on the cloud) should go through the training videos of “Seneferu Production Manager for Remote Users”
This will show you the Production Manager automates and manages the pre-requisites of your tasks, how he manages the file transfers and syncing and validates the dependencies and protects you from working using old or not synchronized assets.
